Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. The important thing is not to stop questioning - Albert Einstein

Early life

When I was a child, I used to hear 'Dreams Come True' and it remained haunting my mind. Even during my school days at Netarhat Vidyalaya, the same question used to fox my thought process as I had personally felt the pain of hundreds of boys there, who were only running from pillar to post. Later, I realized that the surest way to make your dreams come true is to live them. In 1997, when was I was in my late 20s - I took a deep breath one day and decided that time has come to take action in turning them into reality. As the first step in this direction, I started Hamein Bhi Padhao (HBP) to academically streamline all the underprivileged boys and girls. Till date, we have more than 100 centres of HBP at different places, in which thousands of underprivileged children are getting elementary education. Childhood & Education

Born in sleepy hamlet of Mubarakpur under mythological Sitamarhi district on June 7, 1971, Dr.CoomarArunodaya is the fifth amongst seven children of noted educationist Late Krishna Singh, better known as Maaji and philosopher Yugal Kishore Sudarshan. As a child, Arunodaya spent his early days at his native village and did his primary education at Sitamarhi. Few years later, he got selected for prestigious Netrahat School, located at the plateau of Palamau (now Latehar district) in Jharkhand. Perhaps, it was that place - where the seeds of sanskaras and academics - sowed mainly by Maaji started blooming and Arunodaya started writing the scripts of success. He won accolades for his multi-dimensional talent in the class as well as school. After his schooling at Netarhat, Arunodaya joined B.Arch. His architecture acumen reflects in famous ISKCON Temple at Patna. Besides, he was also instrumental in design and construction of many marvels of grand architecture. But, he was not made for architecture of buildings; so he decided to go for social architecture. When Arunodaya took charge of Krishna Niketan - a girl's school, established by her mother late Krishna Singh- it was more or less like running on razor's edge for him. Giving up their cozy lives at home, Arunodaya and his wife Rajni Singh alias Rimpal preferred to sit at least 12 hours a day under asbestos roof - where electricity used to play hide-and-seek game with them, to get their dreams fulfilled. As a result, Krishna Niketan is now all-time one of the best girl's school in Bihar.

Love  Begins with  Nation

'It is time for us to focus on the issues that bring us together as a nation. Supporting parent's capacity to raise their children with the love and resources they need is simply the right thing to do.'

A patriot from heart, Arunodaya left no stone unturned to lit the flame of Patriotism in the hearts of people as he is not only a good human being, rather a good and conscious citizen also. He feels: "The love for our motherland can never weaken our nation; indeed it will strengthen it in the hours of peril. Leading from the front, Arunodaya's organisations have been working in many fields including healthcare, financial independence and social equality. He does a lot of works to dismantle caste and class feelings and wants to nurture sense of harmony among one and all. The way his organizations like Hamein Padhao (HBP), ANHAD and CINEYATRA had successfully shaped the society, he has become a household name of social service in Bihar and for that he has won several awards at national and international levels as well. These organizations had always shown their sincerity and commitment in abridging the gap between privileged and downtrodden people. However, Arunodaya's novel mission had never been a bed of roses as he had faced a lot of personal and professional challenges in his way. But, with his sheer determination, he finally proved that where there is a will, there is a way. Arunodaya ventured many business initiatives, just to support his brain child HBP, as this social work was not funded from outside. It is completely a self-funded movement of this social architect.

Highly spiritual and an avid reader, Arunodaya believes that one should be kind to everyone as they might have been fighting harder battles than him. With his witty thoughts and laconic writings, Arunodaya is an icon and inspiration to all the young people.

Social Career

'A good organizer is the key to anyone with a busy social life.'

Arunodaya had always thought that it is education that teaches us to know what is good. And, to shape up his dreams live - he shouldered a Herculean task of making a society, where no child would be deprived of school by 2020! He started HameinBhiPadhao (HBP) in 1997, a mission to provide primary education to the slum-dwellers and under-privileged children of the society. HBP is the single non-aided organisation that covers Bihar, Jharkhand and few states of North India. It has more than 100 study centres across these states. In 19 years of its inception, HBP has proved that even one man's dream could turn into the dreams of millions. On number of occasions, Arunodaya - who is now the icon of hope for the underprivileged ones - had taken the slum children to bigger stages like President House, Governor House, Chief Minister Residence - to plead for their causes. It was Arunodaya's novel mission of HBP, Sri Lanka University honoured him with Honorary Degree of Doctorate,at a function held in Colombo and presided over by then Prime Minister of Sri Lanka, H.E. D.M. Jayaratne

As the chairman of ANHAD, which does everything possible to restore the pride and value of our culture and heritage through different stage shows and programs, Arunodaya's has hogged the attention of the educationists and cultural activists through his visionary thoughts and write-ups. As a patron of CINEYATRA, he has always highlighted the heritage traditional values of Bihar to the coming generation, so that the custodians of future could bear the responsibilities with clear vision.
